Sanergy is an award-winning social venture that builds healthy, prosperous communities by making hygienic sanitation accessible and affordable in Africa’s urban informal settlements. Our systems-based approach to solving the sanitation crisis involves five key steps: we build a dense network of franchised micro-entrepreneurs, who operate low-cost, high-quality waterless sanitation facilities – called Fresh Life Toilets. We provide critical support services – such as access to finance, business analytics, training, and marketing. We collect the waste regularly and safely remove it from the community. We convert the waste into valuable end products, such as organic fertilizer, insect-based animal feed, and renewable energy. Finally, we sell the end products to Kenyan farms under the brand name Farm Star.

About the role

We are looking for an exceptional individual with strong drive and initiative-taking, who’s able to relate to managers at all levels (from team leader to factory manager) and coach them in the way they lead their teams. The Standardization Change Agent should have a strong improvement management background, be able to implement standardized work and cascading performance dialogues. Furthermore, we want her/him to be able to design leader standard work and performance metrics.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Designing standardized work to improve process stability
  2. Defining the metrics, agenda and structures to run cascading performance dialogues
  3. Coaching managers in team leadership (e.g. running meetings, process confirmation)
  4. Working with improvement engineers to drive CI project
  5. Codifying approaches developed to be available for deployment
  6. Working within a team of change agents across the organization
  7. Running training sessions on specific topics

Qualifications

  1. Coaching and people management skills
  2. Improvement methods (e.g. standardized work, lean management, six sigma, root cause problem solving, etc.)
  3. Analytical skills
  4. Communication skills
  5. Leader Standard Work
  6. Experience in team leadership would be a plus.
  7. Experience with large-scale organizational CI efforts
